If you have read the title of this post, you can tell – I’m pretty damn desperate for you help.
This morning I got up and did my normal skin care routine, la-dee-dah. Then I reached into the jar of my beloved First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream and MY FINGER SCRAPED THE BOTTOM OF THE JAR.
So here I am – knowing I am about to be completely out of moisturizer in a matter of days, but I am completely unknowing of what moisturizer I’m going to purchase next!
The FAB moisturizer is fantastic for my winter skin (it’s SO dry), but now that the weather has warmed up a bit – I find it a little heavy. I have combination skin (dry around the perimeters, dewy and acne prone through the center of my face) and I really want to hear what you, my lovely readers, can recommend me!
I trust you guys and always love your mentions of products in the comments, so I am going to leave this in YOUR hands. Please leave your recommendations in the comments section below, I can’t wait to see what you come up with…
Get to work! (Tom Hardy wants you to…)
Happy Commenting, Gorgeous!

Sounds like we have the same kind of skin. My skin is also very sensitive, besides acne prone, etc .
I personally use holistic vanity’s brightening hyaluronic lotion. U can read the reviews on my blog. I’ve repurchased it several times.

Thanks so much for your recommendation.. I’m looking at the product now and it sounds lovely – how long does the full size bottle usually last you?

Oh it’s lasted me quite a while. A little goes a long way for me so I’d say 4 months, maybe more. Depends on how much you use of course.

I have very dry skin also and two of my favorite are Simple Replenishing Moisturizer and Nourish Organic Ultra Hydrating Face Cream. Good luck π

I’ve been reaching for oils a lot more than cream moisturizers the last several months, but one moisturizer that I really love is Pretty’s Pure Radiance Cream. It’s really lovely and moisturizing, but never feels greasy or heavy. I even find my makeup goes on that little bit better on top of it vs. anything else. When I worked in a natural skin/body care department, I recommended it all the time and I never heard anything but happy feedback from those who tried it!

That’s amazing! I’m going to look into that now! What oils do you use to moisturize? I’ve heard a lot of good things about avocado oil, and was thinking of maybe giving it a spin….

I’ve been mixing jojoba and a blend from Vice1960 lately and my skin is very happy π I’ve actually never used straight avocado, but I’ve liked blends that had it in them. Definitely worth a shot!

Just make sure you use an oil with a low comedigenic rating otherwise you’ll breakout massively. That happened to me once.

Oops typo comedogenic rating

I know that Jojoba Oil is definitely noncomedogenic – in fact it’s almost exactly the same chemical formulation of the oil that our skin produces naturally (sebum) so this one is safe. I don’t know how comedogenic avocado oil is, but then again – it’s all relative to your skin and what your skin can handle. What oil did you have a reaction to?
LikeLike
Hemp oil. Though I shouldn’t have had a reaction to hemp oil. Its comedogenic rating is zero.

That is so strange. Perhaps you are allergic to it?

Maybe. I’ve done well with evening primrose tho that has a 2 rating. Lol

I love SkinCeuticals daily moisture — it’s oil-free and works wonders on my sensitive skin. Also a scrub is always a good thing in the summer to help fight breakouts.

Thanks for the comment. This is actually really great advice. An exfoliator is the only thing I don’t use in my skin care routine… Perhaps this is the root of my blemish problems… Thanks for the moisturizer recommendation (:

Good morning, I’d love to recommend my own personal brand! My Whipped Anti-Aging Cream is 100% natural, made with the finest botanicals and essential oils and is made to order.
I’ve hand-selected many ingredients for their amazing properties such as raw honey (unclogs pores and prevents breakouts), Bulgarian rose (cleans pores, tones and tightens skin), jojoba oil (this oil closely resembles that of your own skin sebum, making it an excellent moisturizer and ideal for all skin types). I love it and use it everyday. Feel free to reach out with any questions! π
